Progress
It is safe to say that our marketing plan for Starik energy is in the final stages of completion. Our main strategy was to target our product to University students in Southern California with free samples to establish brand recognition, and then market our product in nearby restraunts/bars afterward. We decided to market to students mostly because of their youth and willingness to try new products, and we wanted to emulate the strategy that made Red Bull so popular, that is, giving out free samples to not only increase brand awareness but to be percieved as a generous company. To combat the negative conotation that some consumers might have towards energy drinks and their percieved negative health effects, we decided not to add any exoctic chemicals, such as taurine, guarana, or ginseng. Our brand wants to come off as healthy as possible, so even though the product has caffeine, we also emphasized B vitamins and green tea to show our consumers that we care about our customers health. We can assure our customers that our product is safe when taken in moderation.

Progress
As our project comes along, we are inclined to say that we are experiencing great progress. As of today our summary of the energy drink industry is complete, and it is safe to say that we are even more confident in the prospects of the industry, in terms of growth and profitability. Our group is now foucusing on our individual marketing plan, and how we will expose our target market to our product. We decided that the best approach will be to target university students in order to create brand recognition, mainly because students are in the ideal age group that consume energy drinks, and tend to be more open to trying new products. We then decided, after obtaining some brand recognition, to try to market and sell our product in businesses that surround the university, further penetrating our target market and try to increase sales quantity. This is our current plan, and we continue to work on it, and appreciate all our classmates for reading and posting on our blog. Thank you.

Progress
Our group has decided to do a marketing plan based on a new energy drink called Starik energy. Everybody in our group was in favor of it, and look forward to working on the project. We decided to focus on an energy drink mostly because it was a product we were all familiar with. Also, energy drinks are more popular with younger people, so it is easier for us to understand how to market them and who to market to. We decided to direct our marketing to college students, mostly to create brand familiarity. Our main strategy is to market our energy drink at a lower price than the premium coffee drink, giving students an incentive to choose our product rather than a coffee drink. We will try to explain to our customers that our product will provide the same energy boost at a lower price.
