Progress

It is safe to say that our marketing plan for Starik energy is in the final stages of completion. Our main strategy was to target our product to University students in Southern California with free samples to establish brand recognition, and then market our product in nearby restraunts/bars afterward. We decided to market to students mostly because of their youth and willingness to try new products, and we wanted to emulate the strategy that made Red Bull so popular, that is, giving out free samples to not only increase brand awareness but to be percieved as a generous company. To combat the negative conotation that some consumers might have towards energy drinks and their percieved negative health effects, we decided not to add any exoctic chemicals, such as taurine, guarana, or ginseng. Our brand wants to come off as healthy as possible, so even though the product has caffeine, we also emphasized B vitamins and green tea to show our consumers that we care about our customers health. We can assure our customers that our product is safe when taken in moderation.

  1. It is hard to find healthy energy drinks! I rarely drink energy drinks or caffeine/coffee because of all the extra stuff added in them, but this might be something I would try. And samples is always to a great way to promote a new brand. Like you said with Red Bull, maybe you can every create a car version of your drink!

    1. I would agree with Kimberly. If my interpretation of her last sentence is correct, I always picture energy drink manufacturers ( Monster, Rockstar, Redbull) sponsoring rally car racing at the X Games and Formula Drift. Both events attracting young audiences.

  2. This is something that would benefit our business as well. It is a great idea to market these drinks to restaurant/bars, since some of them might provide drinks to designated drivers.

  4. It is good that you concern about consumers' health, and I know that it is safe to use when it comes into the market. However, the flavor of the drinking product is also important, and I concern about the way it tastes. That would be great if a sample will be dispensed inside the campus. I would definitely try.

  6. You should try your energy drink with various types of alcohol. Vodka red bull has become so popular, that if you mixed a different kind of hard alcohol with your drink you may start a new craze. You could hire promoters to go to bars and give samples. Sometimes free shot glasses with the name of your product on them are great reminders.

    1. That is a great idea. Marketing your drink to bars to use in combination with different kinds of alcohol is a great way to get your name out there. People would instantly recognize your name and associate it with a positive time much like people do with Red Bull. You should also try to host various events much like Red Bull which help show off the culture you are trying to promote with your company!

  7. This is amazing that your company has decided to make an energy drink healthy. The idea of changing the way people look at energy drinks is great. they will look at your company's drink in a different way and they will be attracted to it since it is different from other drinks. I think your company will have to deal with new competition very quick since it is a great idea.

  10. Offering samples will help students taste your product and rate it. You could also ask them if the percent in caffeine is a major concern when purchasing the product to know the ratio of ingredients of your product. So far, your product sounds amazing.

It will be interesting see your products in the restaurants and bars. 12. I love this idea of taking out the extra chemicals. Caffeine, itself, is enough for most people. With a boost of vitamin B, people may find the results more appealing than other energy drinks. Plus, your company is looking to add the benefit of health. A healthier choice energy drink will reach a larger market.

  13. Using a marketing strategy such as the one that Red Bull used to gain their market share is a great idea because they have great brand loyalty because of it. By giving out free samples at college campuses, it not only creates a strong brand recognition, but also helps your target market. Making a healthier energy drink is highly desired in the energy drink market, since people who have given up drinking energy drinks over recent years, have done so because of the ingredients that are in them and the negative effects that they can have. I think a healthier energy drink alternative is definitely something that consumers are looking for when shopping for some extra energy.

  14. Emphasis and stress the word "healthy". Seems far-fetched but it'll attract the consumer when you tell them about the ingredient you listed above. good idea
